I am Lesa Breding and I'm here to support you in living the life you love…as a woman and as a mother. Speaking from personal experience, living the life you love isn't easy. It requires Awakening your inner voice. Nurturing your mind, body and spirit. Believing in the future while honoring the past. Creating tomorrow's dreams by taking action today. Enjoying the journey, not just the destination. A little dose of Patience doesn't hurt, either!
For me, living the life I love includes weaving my formal education in psychology (B.S.) and social work (M.S.W.) with creative pursuits~ piano teacher, visual artist, writer and entrepreneur (see my journal for moms entitled, mom said i did WHAT?!.)
I feel blessed living a creatively integrated life because it didn't come quickly, clearly nor easily. During my younger years, an all consuming eating disorder and its related issues had me in a chokehold, squeezing the life out of my dreams and talents. Thank God for treatment, supportive family and loved ones, as well as the values mentioned above. These same principles strengthened me during another painful life-experience, divorce from my sons' father.
Challenges and trials seem to be part of the human experience. How we handle them in turn is what matters most. Awakening, nurturing, believing, creating, enjoying, patience...one step at a time...until we get it right.
My personal journey toward mental, physical and spiritual health created passion for understanding those of others. I'm currently researching a topic close to my heart, pregnancy, motherhood and eating disorders. If you or someone you know has been touched by this issue please contact me at research@daysliketomorrow.com. I would be honored to hear your story.
If I made a list of my favorite things, it would be topped by spending time alongside my sons and the friends & family I love. Also on that list would be traveling to big cities and remote places alike, hearing people speak in their native languages, strong coffee (too bad I get the jitters,) mountain-biking with girlfriends, chocolate, beautiful sunsets and harvest on my family's farm.
We all have dreams. "Self-indulgent me" dreams of entering another triathlon and finishing my private pilot's license. "Outreaching me" wants to make a positive difference in the world. "Mommy me" would like to raise happy, healthy, compassionate sons who face the world with open arms. These are my Days Like Tomorrow. What are yours?
